As most of us have realized by now, we can no longer afford to be reckless with our precious resources. We need to move mindfully, create with intention, and treat nothing as disposable. This planet is our home, and there is only one.
OUR METALS
All of our pieces are made with ethical metals. We offer two varieties: recycled precious metal or Certified Fairmined Gold in 14-karat gold. We use only pure metals. This means our pieces can be melted and recast, extending the lifecycle of the metal - plated and filled metals cannot.
WHY RECYCLED METAL
We use 100% recycled precious metals certified by SCS Global Services as entirely recycled content from conflict-free sources with no new mining involved. SCS recycled metal is manufactured with fair international labor practices and complies with baseline energy, waste, water, and GHG emissions targets. Our sources are audited each year by SCS Global Services to receive the annual SCS certification.
WHY FAIRMINED?
Mining is an enormous part of local economies in the developing world. Boycotts of mined gold can have devastating impacts on hardworking people and their families. This is why we offer the option to cast any of our pieces in Fairmined Gold.
Fairmined is an assurance label that certifies gold from responsible small-scale mining organizations. Fairmined is backed by a rigorous third-party audit system that ensures world-leading standards for responsible practices, including guaranteed minimum price for materials, no conflict links, no child labor, safe workplaces, low environmental impact, etc.
OUR STONES
ETHICAL, CONFLICT-FREE GEMSTONES & DIAMONDS
Gemstones are notoriously difficult to trace as they are mined, cut, and exchanged frequently. We opt to recycle stones whenever we can. Many of our stones are sourced from local gem dealers we have met across the world. When we need to source new gemstones, we do so from responsible suppliers that work with small-scale miners that adhere to international industry standards for environmental sustainability and social equity.
We will remain open and honest so you (and we) can trust in the source of our stones.
RECYCLED DIAMONDS
Approximately 4.5 billion carats of diamonds have been extracted since large-scale mining began in the 1870s. This means millions of diamonds are part of the world’s existing, above-ground, supply. Many of these diamonds can be removed from previous jewelry settings and reused. To reduce reliance on extraction, we use recycled diamonds whenever we can.
OUR PACKAGING
All of our packaging is made using recycled, FSC-certified or compostable materials and printed with soy-based, non-toxic inks.
