Fico Charm

This piece pays special homage to the fig trees that grew outside the homes of our founder’s great grandparents in rural, northern Italy. Commonly used in art history, Figs are a symbol of wisdom, abundance, and sensuality. They are associated with the fall harvest and hard-working Italian immigrants who cultivate the land. 

The fig also holds special meaning as a symbol of the soul of this brand. Based on the excerpt from Silvia Plath’s “The Bell Jar”, the fig tree represents a world of possibilities and all the lives we can (and do!) live. Think of it less as choosing between worlds, but instead a lifelong learning and practice that they can all exist, together, in an imperfectly perfect way. And standing in one makes us no less legitimate or real in another. What matters isn’t the choosing so much as the moving, the growing. It’ll be beautiful and real and ours, no matter what.
