Fede Carnelian Necklace
Throughout history, hands have served as many symbols. In ancient Rome, two hands clasping one another was known as "fede hands" - fede in Italian means loyalty, faith, and trust. Fede rings are thought to be the earliest examples of wedding rings and were used to symbolize the devotion of this bond.
Hands hold on. They let go. They wring and grip, stretch, and squeeze. They are constantly yearning to meet one another. We carry so much of ourselves in our hands, they tell such stories. With hands clasped, this strand of lapis with our Fede clasp is a reminder of connection and cherished things - to never stop seeking one another.
Strand of individually hand-knotted 10mm carnelian beads on 100% periwinkle pure silk thread, complemented by fine metal accents. Clasp and beads are 10K yellow gold or sterling silver. Available in 16" and 18" lengths. Request a custom length here.
