Clear Eye, Full Heart Connector
A thick, fine metal heart connector with a delicate seeing eye hand-carved into the center with light rays emulating from every angle. The connector features two small hoops and a hook at its top.
The Clear Eye, Full Heart pendant is loosely based on the story of Saint Lucia, the patron saint of vision and the blind. Daughter of a wealthy pagan Roman, Lucia converted to Christianity as a young woman and chose a chaste life. As the tale goes, her eyes were removed by Roman soldiers as punishment for refusing to marry. It is said that her eyes were restored to her body when she was buried. Saint Lucia’s Day is celebrated on December 13 as a festival of light and hope in the darkness of winter.
The seeing eye is known as a symbol of good fortune and protection against evil spirits. Enclosed by rays of light, the sacred symbol represents divine providence and can be traced back to classical Greek iconography, alchemy, astrology, and Freemasonry. To many, it is a beacon of universal care. When paired with a heart, the two are a potent combination of love and luck. When designing this, we couldn’t help but think of a common and comforting phrase that raised so many of us and one that rings true decades later. Clear eyes, full heart, can't lose.
Let it be a reminder to act with clarity, conviction and courage for no matter the darkness, the sun will still rise.
