Child of the OG ‘Nasty Woman’ Medusa, Pegasus is a winged stallion figure and a subject of rich iconographic history throughout Greek mythology and Renaissance art. Pegasus was tasked with bringing thunder and lightning from Mount Olympus. He was thought to have magical capabilities and every time his hoof struck the ground, a spring emerged with water that blessed its drinker. After his death, Zeus immortalized Pegasus as a constellation, represented by the star above the horse’s head. The image of a winged horse has later appeared in countless crests and logos as a symbol of courage and victory in the face of challenges. May it bring you strength and grace.
